Projects

Thea and PCMCA have undertaken the following projects together:

  1. In the early spring of 1999, Thea paid for PCMCA's co-founders to spend two weeks as guests of a church community near Newmarket. The church later sent two of its members to visit PCMCA in Rwanda. The Newmarket church provided ongoing fellowship and practical support to PCMCA in its early days.
  2. In the autumn of 1999, Thea's founder visited Rwanda specifically for the purpose of assessing how Thea could best provide ongoing support to PCMCA.
  3. During 2000 and 2001, Thea sought to mediate between PCMCA and certain international donor agencies, with a view to building confidence and broadening the base of support for PCMCA's work.
  4. During 2002, Thea paid for PCMCA's director to undertake a one-year diploma course in biblical theology at George Whitefield Theological College, Muizenberg, Cape Town, South Africa.
  5. From 2003 to 2012, Thea has provided support to PCMCA:
    1. In rolling out the biblical theology training to a large number of free church pastors in Rwanda; and
    2. In making short-term loans to vulnerable households to allow the costs of primary and secondary education for children to be met whilst the head of the household developed a business.
  6. In late 2004, one of Thea's trustees paid a visit to Rwanda to carry out an appraisal of the PCMCA projects, and produced a detailed report.
  7. In late 2010, Thea’s founder visited Rwanda and carried out interviews with a number of beneficiaries, who described what they had succeeded in developing with Thea’s support.
  8. In 2013, Thea is looking at the possibility of supporting PCMCA’s Chairman to undertake a further course of training in the UK to equip him for the ongoing work of empowering leaders and congregations of Christians in Rwanda.
